Healing spring in Bad Kleinkirchheim

the "Augenquelle" spring in Bad Kleinkirchheim

In the place where in the year 1055 AD the court palatine Poto discovered a healing thermal spring containing radon and radium as he was fleeing, today there stands the picturesque little Kathrein Church. The clear water of the Augenquelle spring gushes out of its wall.

Already in the Middle Ages, it promised easing and healing of eye diseases and the ability to see to an advanced age.

Still today, the thermal springs in Bad Kleinkirchheim supply the two public thermal baths Römerbad and St. Kathrein with healing water.
