Fish Festival

On Saturday, 15th of July 2023 the whole of Feld am See celebrate the Gourmet Fish Festival, with local delicacies such as fish soup, fish dumplings, Carinthian lake trout, Carinthian crayfish, meat- filled crispy pancakes, frutti di lago, smokey fisch & cheese, fish quenelles, marinated fish kebabs and much more.

Do you feel like trying ...… Kärntna Låxn lake trout, fish pasta, whitefish, fish soup, trout fillet cooked in a giant pan, Carinthian crayfish, fish paella, pan-fried char, fish lasagne or simply a fish grilled on a stick? Plus the “Sauvignon blanc Feld am See” 2022- fishwine to accompany your fish, served in the stylish fish festival glasses?

Many culinary highlights to do with “local fish” await you. The “Fischfest” is already a fixed date in the calendar for our Italian neighbours. Every year from 10 o’clock onwards thousands of visitors stream into the church square for the traditional fish festival, to enjoy all sorts of variants on freshly caught fish from the naturally pure Carinthian lakes. Visitors are sure to find everything a gourmet heart could desire.

Our tip: Be there in good time! Admission is free. In case of bad weather, the fish festival will be postponed to Sunday, 16 July.
