Swimming in our lakes
take a dip in feld am see
According to legend, the Mirnock giant divided a large lake into two - Brennsee and Afritzer See - a thousand years ago by hurling down a gigantic rock. The reason for his outburst of rage was none other than a pretty fisherman's daughter, who he had captured but had then managed to flee again...
Brennsee
Pack your swimwear and off you go to swim a few brisk rounds in Brennsee, which lies picturesquely between the rolling peaks of Mirnock and Wöllaner Nock. The lake is 1.3km long and 500 metres wide. The maximum depth is 26.3 metres.
Afritzer See
The shores of the 1.6km-long and 340-metre-wide lake are scarcely built up. You can walk all around the lake without having to use a road. The circuit around the lake is around 3.5km.
Free entrance to the lakes: North side of Brennsee (Seestraße) and north side of Afritzer See
Both lakes boast drinking water quality and reach temperatures of up to 25°C in summer. Swimming is prohibited for dogs and motorboats are not allowed.
